Career & Professional Development

My Approach to Career and Professional Development

My approach to career and professional development is rooted in mentorship, reflection, and practical skill-building. I work collaboratively with students and early-career professionals to help them clarify their goals, strengthen their clinical and professional identity, and navigate the complexities of the social work field with confidence.

I integrate real-world experience with individualized guidance, supporting clients in areas such as practicum success, clinical skill development, career transitions, and leadership growth. I also recognize the impact of systemic barriers and strive to create a space where individuals, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, feel supported, validated, and empowered to advance in their careers.

My focus is on helping each person build a clear, actionable path forward while developing the confidence, competence, and professional voice needed to thrive in the social work field.

Graduate school can feel overwhelming, especially when balancing academic demands, practicum expectations, and future career decisions. Professional development support helps student build confidence, strengthen their clinical and professional skills, and make informed decisions about their career path. It also provides space to process challenges, receive mentorship, and develop a clear plan for entering and advancing in the field.

How long have you worked with students and in what capacity?

I have over two decades of experience working with students as a practicum instructor and an adjunct faculty member at NYU, Columbia University, and Fordham University as well as serving as faculty advisor and practicum liaison.
