Laudy's Message

As a parent myself, I know how important it is to receive support during this important stage of life. I am passionate about treating individuals across the reproductive cycle, including difficulties associated with infertility and family planning, pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition to parenthood—drawing from my own experiences as a mother to provide individuals the support they need to take better care of themselves and their families.
I can help you with...
Most individuals get the “baby blues,” or feel sad, irritable, overwhelmed or empty, within a few days of giving birth. For many, the baby blues go away in 3 to 5 days. If your baby blues don’t go away or you feel sad, hopeless, or empty for longer than 2 weeks, you may have postpartum depression. Feeling hopeless or empty after childbirth or adoption is not a regular or expected part of being a parent.
Postpartum anxiety is excessive worrying that occurs after childbirth or adoption. People with postpartum anxiety may feel consumed with worry and constantly nervous or panicked.
Perinatal loss includes miscarriage (fetal death before 20 weeks), stillbirth (after 20 weeks), and death of an infant in the first 28 days of life. Perinatal loss and grief are recognized as traumatic life events. It can take a few weeks to months for your body to recover physically, and it may take longer to recover emotionally.

MY APPROACH
My approach to therapy is consistent with best practices. That means I take my experience as a clinician and evidenced based practice to ensure that we create a plan for therapy that is parallel to your needs as a new mother while utilizing therapeutic methods to help you cope with existing symptoms impacting your day to day life.
